There are quite a few different browsers, all of them with their own strengths and weaknesses. A browser allows you to view web-pages—i.e. documents that have been created using HTML, or hyper-text markup language.
Here’s a selection:
Apple’s Safari
Google’s Chrome
Which one is most popular? It depends who you believe. W3Schools.com lists Firefox as the most popular, at about 46%, compared with Internet Explorer at 38%, Chrome at 10%, Safari at 4% and Opera at 2%. Webreference sort of agrees with the differentials, with Internet Explorer at 26%, Firefox at 37%. Kerry Watson’s Browser Statistics draws data from three sources, and pretty much agrees that Firefox is about 47%, but IE around 27%, Opera, Google Chrome 9% and Safari 6%.
