Setting up an account
Go to Linkedin.com. You’ll see a sign up box at the right side with the label “Join Linkedin Today”.
Fill up the details when you see this window. Click “Create my profile.”
The next step is searching your email for contacts in the “See Who You Already Know on LinkedIn” step. Confirm your e-mail account then sign in.
Tweaking settings
After choosing whether to get a basic or a premium account, go to Profile> Edit Profile to fill in details. Add job positions you’re currently holding or jobs you’ve had in the past. You can even add your schools, a website and you can connect your profile to your Twitter account. Click “Add a photo” on top of this box to upload your photo.
Upload your photo by clicking “Choose file” then “Upload Photo”.
You can add more details on the Personal Information, Additional Information and Contact settings sections. Click “View Profile” on the top-left section of the page to view your public profile. If you want to set your privacy settings, click “Change Public Profile Settings” on the right side of your page. You can set your profile page’s URL and set what information you want to share with others.
